11 days Beauty of Mongolia tour
I participated to the 11 days beauty of Mongolia tour in the first half of September and had an amazing experience.
The team made a great job for my trip to go smoothly from the very moment I started planning my departure. Our guide and drivers were well prepared, they perfectly knew the place and were very mindful to the group's needs and requests; which contributed a lot to make this an enjoyable trip.
The activities proposed in the tour were pretty diverse as expected and well-balanced between historical spots and more outdoor sightseeing. The Ger camp accommodations always offered a plentiful amount of food as well as firewood and/or extra blankets for the night, so it was restful to stay there.
I'd definitively reach Discover Mongolia again for another tour in the future!
Dog sledding tour
My partner and I recently did the dog sledding tour, safe to say it was one of the best tours I've ever been on. The guide was incredibly kind and offered a lot of knowledge on the national park and its history. The car ride was enjoyable watching the scenery go by.
The best part of the tour was the dog sledding in my opinion, it was such a blast. We even got to have a go controlling the sled! Next up was the lunch and let me tell you, it was delicious and really eye-opening to see how they actually live.
Then we went on to the horse riding and it was a pleasant end to the day riding past the beautiful turtle rock. 5 stars.
Exellent guides, activities, hotels and food
We did 2 tours with Discover Mongolia: 4 Day Goby Dessert Tour with and the Day tour to Turtle Rock. Both guides where excellent. Sleeping on Ger with our family, visiting nomad families, horse riding, camel riding, sand dunes climbing. Every detail was incredible. Food on the tour was also delicious.
Previous our arrival to Mongolia we talked on the phone several times with Bat (the owner) as we traveled with a 1-year-old child and wanted to have everything settled. He was extremely kind to all of our requests, and all his advice and recommendations were very good.
We definitely recommend to families to do the goby dessert tour in Mongolia as it is a great education for kids and also shows them new forms of life.
Thanks, Discover Mongolia for this incredible experience!
Truly Immersive Experience
Spent the Lunar New Year with a nomadic family along with my translator Enkh. An absolutely incredible experience.
I booked this trip not knowing much about Mongolia, but everyone was so warm and welcoming and I learned so much about the culture. It was extremely cold, however I feel like that just provided to the experience and the story. Being from the city, I was completely out of my element about 99% of the time, but Enkh provided me everything I needed and really provided context for everything we were doing which was awesome. My translator was also pretty close to me in age, so it felt very informal and as if I was just hanging out with a friend, which was nice.
Great trip, I would definitely recommend!
Going back on time thru Nomads Winter Festivals
Amazing, shocking & worth doing.
As most tourists go on Summer for Naadam, I was not completely sure of my decision to go for Winter Festivals. However, it was great!
A good balance between natural & cultural experiences. Horse sledding, camel riding, interaction with reindeers and eagles was what I expected the tour to be. Beauty of frozen Lake Huvsgui resembles a stained window made of blue crystals and white ribbons.
You can be part of ancient times for instants, being at a shamanic bonfire ritual, hearing throat singing or watching carved reindeer on stone pillars in the middle of nowhere.
And you share real folk moments, being at a small town dance, sleeping at a local house and having homemade meals. Even camel rodeo feels so real, as it is not cowboy rodeo where experts display as entertainment, but a display of skills used on their daily life.
Togosoo guided us for the most part of the time thru this journey and thru the cultural differences, helping us to understand traditional and modern Mongolia, and making our stay comfortable. Ochiroo, our driver, was always friendly and ready to take us for hours and hours thru the endless prairies of the nomads.
Yes, it is an agency I recommend, and a country I would like to return one summer.
Gobi Desert 5 days
Excellent personal service provided by Ibo and Kamba. My trip included stays in several gers, climbing in the Eagle Valley and dunes, the Altay mountains and many other amazing sights in the Gobi desert.
